Edward Van Popering

Edward Arnold Van Popering, 86, husband of the late Millicent Fay Van Popering and a resident of Willis Wharf, VA, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at his residence. A native of West Sayville, NY, he was the son of the late Edward Van Popering and the late Mable Murphy Van Popering. He was a retired waterman.

He is survived by three children, Martha Mary Sanwald of Parksley, VA, Joel Edward Van Popering of Parksley, and George Christian Van Popering of New York; a sister, Beverely Anne Ockers of West Sayville; and a grandson, Harvey Richard Bumstead of New York.

To honor his wishes a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
