Allen M. Gibbons

Allen Milton Gibbons, 72, of Cape Charles, formerly of Onancock, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at Shore Life Care in Parksley. A native of southside Chesconnessex, he was the son of the late Allen and Ellen Yopp Gibbons. Allen was a 1954 graduate of Onancock High School and a retired meat cutter for Food Lion. He attended Exmore Baptist Church and was a member of Exmore Moose Lodge #683. He is survived by a son, Barry Allen Gibbons of Williamsburg, VA; three step children, Tom Collins and his wife Beverly, Frank Collins and Kim Collins, all of Cape Charles; two grandchildren, Susan Gibbons of Exmore and Gary Gibbons of Melfa; ten stepgrandchildren; two great grandchildren, Miranda and Cailee Gibbons of Melfa; and two stepgreat grandchildren. He was predeceased by two half brothers, Willie Allen "Gibby" Gibbons and Elmer Leckner. A graveside service will be held Wednesday February 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock with Rev. Jonathan Carpenter and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating.
