Betty Ann Beckmann, 83, wife of the late Matthias Christoph Beckmann and a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Albert B. Matje and the late Margaret Borger Matje. She was the former owner of the Edgewood Motel.
She is survived by three children, Christine Snook and her husband, Mark, of Cape Charles, Lesley Sederholm and her husband, Shawn, of Wisconsin, James Albert Beckmann of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Nase of Arizonia; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Florence Tonette.
Family will join friends at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home Monday, May 1, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
