Betty Jean Taylor

Betty Jean Spence Taylor, 85, wife of the late Johnnie C. Taylor, a resident and native of Chesconessex, VA, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Spence and the late Beatrice Hickman Spence. Betty was a retired caretaker from Shore Memorial Hospital Daycare.

She is survived by one son, John Douglas Taylor of Chesconessex; a sister, MayBelle S. Bennett and her husband, Sonny, of Onancock; a nephew, Gregory Bennett and wife, Peggy, of Parksley, VA; and a sister in law, Silva Spence of Tasley, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 24, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter and Pastor Freddie Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Family will join friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
