Carolyn Hope Lewis
April 24, 1951 — December 16, 2017
Carolyn Hope Lewis, 66, wife of the late Cecil T. Lewis, Jr. and a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Townsend, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lee Hope and the late Catherine Kellam Hope. She was a retired waitress.
She is survived by three children, Marshall Cox, Jr. and his fiancée, Christina Marshall, of Eastville, VA, Laura Hemphill and her husband, William, of Machipongo, VA, and Robin Mears and her husband, Wayne, of Birdsnest, VA; two sisters, Dianne Snyder and her husband, Sam, of Maryland, and Kay Clark and her husband, Gus, of Cheriton, VA; a brother, H.L. Hope of Cape Charles, VA; and four grandchildren, Chelsea Defrees, Addison Mears, Luke Mears and Jason Hemphill.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday, December 22, 2017, at 4:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Russell Goodrich officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 430, Onancock, VA 23417.
