Cathy Ulrich

Catherine Lynn Ulrich, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Born in Seaview, VA, she was the wonderful daughter to the late Margaret Ann Ulrich and James Wood. Since then, she has surrounded herself in a shore of friends. Sharing her life with dedication to her community as a 911 dispatcher, a nurse for ESRJ, and a lifelong member of Cape Charles Rescue Squad. She cared greatly and worked hard. All with much pride, grit and sass. Cathy loved life and her animals, crabbing and Christmas in July movies. Cathy was well loved by those closest to her. She will always be remembered for her devotion and kindness.

She is survived by her aunt, Norma Lassiter of Parksley, VA; numerous cousins; and a great friend turned caregiver, Leigh Ann Pavlik. She joined many predeceased loved ones in the afterlife, but without doubt she was most joyful to see her mama.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 12:00PM, at the Cape Charles Rescue Squad community room, 22215 S. Bayside Road, Cape Charles, VA 23310. In her memory, please consider making a donation to a volunteer company or diabetes research.
