Chester Ervin Moore Jr., 79, of Cape Charles, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Born to the late Chester Ervin Moore Sr. and Dorothy Mae Moore, he was a lifelong Eastern Shore native whose quiet strength and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
Chester was the devoted husband of the late Margie Jane Moore, with whom he shared many cherished years. A faithful member of Cheriton Baptist Church, he served his church family with dedication and humility. He was also an active member of the Royal Ambassadors racing cars, embracing the camaraderie and excitement of the sport.
For 28 years, Chester worked for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge–Tunnel, where he was known for his dependable service and strong work ethic. His commitment to his work reflected the same integrity he carried throughout all aspects of his life.
He found great joy in the outdoors, especially rabbit hunting, an activity he treasured most when shared with his father and his beloved son. Chester’s family was the center of his world, and he was deeply proud of the generations that followed him.
He is survived by his son, Tommy Moore, and two grandchildren, Kaelynn and Ryan Moore, who brought him immense pride and happiness. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Charles Peterson officiating.

Chester will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his love of family and tradition, and the quiet kindness he shared throughout his life. May he rest in peace.
