Clarence Milton Baylis, Jr.

February 28, 1930 — February 26, 2018

Clarence Milton Baylis, Jr. 87, husband of Donna Baylis and a resident of Quinby went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 26, 2018. Born on February 28th, 1930, Clarence was a native of Long Island, New York, and the son of Clarence Milton Baylis, Sr. and Majorie Frisch Baylis. Clarence was a nurseryman and the owner of Earth's Bounty Nursery in Keller and never fully retired. He always had intentions of getting back on the tractor again as soon as he was able. He was a member of Hollies Baptist Church in Keller. He also enjoyed listening to Pastor Jonathan Carpenter of Exmore Baptist Church on the radio on Sunday mornings. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, love of farming, and wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his wife Donna, Clarence is survived by four daughters, Kathy Dean and her husband, Kevin, of Pungoteague, Penny Windsor Young and her husband, Gary, of Parksley, Linda Baylis Spence and her husband, Terry, of Exmore, and Kimberly Baylis Laxton and her husband, Kit, of Onancock; two sons, Mark Baylis of Guilford, and John Windsor of Exmore; a special nephew, Brian Baylis, Sr. and his wife, Dawn, of Painter; grandsons Ryan Davis of Painter, Bradley Spence and his wife, Stephanie, of Fort Drum, NY, Grant Spence of Mannassas, Cole Spence of Exmore, Wesley Young of Parksley, Philip Laxton and Caleb Laxton of Onancock, Jason Kanipe of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughters Amanda Davis and Victoria Spence of Exmore, Amy Ratzlaff of Guilford, and Sara Young of Salisbury, MD; two great grandchildren, Aiden Fitchett of Exmore, and Cecillia Spence of Fort Drum, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Mears Baylis, and three brothers, Arthur Baylis, Donald Baylis and Wayne Baylis.

All family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Exmore Baptist Church in Exmore on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. Deacon Christopher "Kit" Laxton will be officiating.
