Curtis Albert Heath Sr., 72, a resident of Townsend, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Va. Born Jan. 25, 1937 in Nassawadox, he was the son of the late Curtis Heath and Kathleen Richardson Heath. A life-long waterman, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who extended his generosity and heart to everyone he encountered. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. at Lower Northampton Baptist Church, Cape Charles. The Rev. Jeff Conrow will officiate. Mr. Heath is survived by four children, Curtis Albert Heath Jr. of Townsend, Brian Clarke Heath and wife Kim of Fawn Grove, Pa., Mark Russell Heath of Townsend, and Kim Heath Horn and husband Randy of Anthem, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, Megan Heath Stein and husband Andrew of Winona, Mo., Heather Heath of Fawn Grove, Amanda Talbott , Curtis Earl Heath of Cheriton, Andrew Talbott of Anthem, Rachel Heath of Fawn Grove, Allie Talbott of Anthem, Lauren Heath of Cheriton, Nicole Heath of Fawn Grove, Rebekah Heath of Fawn Grove, Drea Heath of Nassawadox and Isabelle Heath of Nassawadox; one great-grandson, Wyatt Stein of Winona; a brother, Carey T. Heath of Townsend; a sister, Barbara Dale Waggoner of Indiana; and numerous other family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Sentara for their quality of care; and to all those who offered their thoughts, prayers, and other acts of kindness during this difficult time.
