Danhof Francis VanDyke

Danhof Francis VanDyke, 76, husband of the late Dana Latimer VanDyke and a resident of Eastville, VA, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Beth Shalom Village in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Lexington, MI, he was born January 5, 1940 in Grosse Pointe, MI to the late Raymond Henry VanDyke and the late Florence T. VanDyke. He was a United States Navy Veteran, a retired Post Master for the United States Postal Service, member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Cape Charles Rotary Club, Eastern Shore Artisans Guild and served on the Northampton County Planning Commission.

He is survived by three children, Jonathan F. McIvor of Virginia Beach, Brandon F. McIvor and his wife, Gina, of Virginia Beach, Katherine M. Wyndham and her husband, William, of Norfolk, VA; a sister, Kathy VanDyke Bullard and her husband, B.J., of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Michael David VanDyke and his wife, A. Janice, of Bonita Springs, FL; four granddaughters, Sophia McIvor of Exmore, VA and Savannah, Emma and Grace Wyndham, all of Norfolk; four nieces, Shelly Bullard, Linda Bullard Cherone, Kelly VanDyke Tajiri, Michele VanDyke Woodruff and four nephews, Bo Bullard, Dennis VanDyke, Mike VanDyke and Kevin VanDyke. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul VanDyke and a nephew, Tim VanDyke.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 16304 Courthouse Rd, Eastville, VA with Reverend Daniel Crockett officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery. Family will join friends at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home, 119 Pine Street, Cape Charles, VA Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
