David Joseph Walters, better known as "Super Dave", 74, husband of Joyce V. Walters and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Perth Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Roy David Walters and the late Elizabeth Ann Bagonyi Walters. He retired from BP and was a US Air Force veteran. He attended St. George's Episcopal Church and was a member of Double "O" Rod & Gun Club, Apple Mountain Gun Club, and Exmore Moose Lodge #683. He was President of the Pleasant Meadows Property Owners Association, Yankee coach for Fords Little League, and earned a Karate Black Belt in Korea.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Michelle Gulya (Rich), Michael Walters (Ann), David Duff (Veronica), Michael Duff, Keith Duff; two sisters, Diane DeGenova (Frank), Delores Wright (Ron); two brothers, Roy D. Walters, Jr. (Donna), Danny Walters (Maddy); six grandchildren, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters, Cassie Mae Gulya, Matthew Gulya, Nicole McCarey, Traci Duff; and two great-grandchildren, Skylar Cooper, T.J. McCarey. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Denise Kovach.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. George's Episcopal Church with Reverend Cameron Randle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Irish Setter Rescue in New Jersey http://www.irishrescue.org/
