Diane Kellam Mapp, 84, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on March 30, 2026, at Tuckahoe Pines Retirement Community, with her two loving daughters by her side.
Born and raised in Wachapreague, Virginia, Diane later lived in Exmore and Belle Haven before settling in Richmond. Though she made her home in Richmond in later years, her heart always remained on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. She was the daughter of the late Harold D. “Jack” Kellam and the late Sarah Steel Kellam.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin H. Mapp, and her brother, Gary B. Kellam. She loved the Lord, her family, and all dogs, especially her own. She found great joy in reading, talking on the phone with her many friends, and staying connected with those she loved.
Diane was a dedicated homemaker and entrepreneur. Over the years, she owned several ladies’ fashion shops and later became an antique jewelry dealer, a role that reflected her appreciation for beauty, history, and craftsmanship. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, strong faith, and deep love for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Mapp Davis (John), and Terry Mapp Barrett (Grover); four grandchildren, Laura Davis (Sally), Clay Davis, Dr. Jonathan Barrett (Melissa), and Emma B. Earlenbaugh (Austin); and three great-grandsons, Daniel Barrett, James Mapp Barrett, and Jameson Earlenbaugh.
Diane’s legacy of love, faith, unending generosity, and devotion to family and her Eastern Shore roots will be cherished by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Doughty Funeral Home at 10:00AM, with Pastor Rob Kelly officiating.
Memorials may be made to Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence, PO Box 3, Onancock, VA 23417 or the Eastern Shore S.P.C.A., Inc., PO Box 164, Onley, Virginia 23418.
