On Thursday, October 6, 2022, Dorothy Boole Stauffer, 94, wife of the late Lynn E. Stauffer, Sr. and a resident of Melfa, VA, was reunited with her loved ones as the Lord called her home. A native of Happy Union Farm, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Cornelius Boole and the late Margaret Viola Massey Boole. She was part owner of Horne and Stauffer Furniture Store. Dorothy was a very proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and loving wife of over 75 years.
She is survived by a son, Lynn E. Stauffer, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Sarasota, FL; a daughter, Janice Recker and her husband, Rick, of Georgetown, SC; a sister, Peggy Boole Downing; seven grandchildren, Holly, Melanie, Janene, Gary, Chris, Vicky, and Michael, Jr.; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was predeceased by two sons, Michael Jeffery Stauffer and William Gary Stauffer; two brothers, Buddy Boole and Floyd Boole; and two sisters, Rose Johnson and Frannie Ball.
A celebration of life service for family and friends will be conducted Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Rock Church of the Eastern Shore with Michael Jeffery Stauffer, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A.R.C. Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 626, Exmore, VA 23350, Riverside Shore Hospice, P.O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418 or the Eastern Shore Railway Museum, c/o Ellen Johnson, P.O. Box 135, Parksley, VA 23421.
