Edward Humphreys Bender
April 16, 1930 — December 9, 2017
Edward Humphreys Bender, 87, husband of Elizabeth Parks Bender and a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, at his residence. A native of Northampton County, VA, he was the son of the late Arthur Bender and the late Nolan Hinman Bender. He was a United States Navy Veteran and retired waterman.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward Mark Bender and his wife, Tammy, of Capeville, VA, and Arthur Peter Bender of Cape Charles, VA; a nephew, Don Bender and his wife, Debbie, of Cape Charles; four grandchildren, Danielle Bender, Ryan Bender, Jessica Stiles and Ashley Bender; and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherri Ann Bender and two brothers, Arthur Bender, Jr. and Harry Fred Bender.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday, December 15, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Cheriton United Methodist Church with Reverend Janet C. Allen and Mr. Barry Downing officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cheriton United Methodist Church, c/o Jo Ann Heneghan, P.O. Box 297, Cheriton, VA 23316.
