A native of Townsend, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Elliott and the late Eleanor Travis Elliott. She finally "gave up" working at the age of 84!

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Wray Mountain and her husband, Dennis, of Cheriton, VA; granddaughter, Jenna Mountain of Cheriton; and three nephews, John "Eddie" Goble of Townsend, Danny A. Goble and family of Harleysville, PA, and Clyde Small and family of Indianola, WA. In addition to her parents and loving husband of 62 years, she was predeceased by two sisters, Esther Goble and Pauline Small, and a niece, Paula Small.

Her family and friends gave her their love and paid their respects while she was still on this earth. There will be no public service. Memorials may be made to Cape Charles Christian School, 237 Tazewell Avenue, PO Box 30, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
