Eleanor May Forbes

Eleanor May Forbes, 79, wife of the late Donald Forbes and the late Paul R. Carpenter and a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Shaffer and the late Florence Shaffer.
She is survived by five children, Pat Taylor and her husband, Bob, of Lancaster, Michael Carpenter of Cape Charles, Paula Champion and her companion, Bill Widgeon, of Cape Charles, Tracy Grubbs of Cape Charles, and Judy Carpenter of Smith Beach, VA; a brother, Harry Shaffer of Columbia, PA; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dale Carpenter; a grandson, B.J. Carpenter, a brother and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Mary Jimenez officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Eastern Shore Community Services Board, P. O. Box 453, Nassawadox, VA 23413.
