Frank John Etz III

Frank John Etz III, also known as Sonny, 66, husband of Debbie Smith Etz, a resident of Capeville, VA, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of Capeville, he was the son of Frank J. Etz, Jr. of Capeville and the late Sadie Moore Etz. He was an Emergency Crewman for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel and a member of the American Legion, Eastern Shore Corvette Club, Eastern Shore Motorcycle Club and Cheriton Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his father and loving wife, he is survived by two children, Marshall Scott Etz of Townsend, VA, and Lori Etz Mears and her husband, Allen, of Painter, VA; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Porter of Harrington, DE, and Robin E. Stephenson and her husband, Bob, of Felton, DE; one granddaughter, Ashlyn Mears of Painter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Capeville Masonic Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. Family will join friends at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shore Christian Academy, 11624 Occohannock Road, Exmore, VA 23350 or Cheriton Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 41, Cheriton, VA 23316.
