Gordon Lee Thornes

Gordon Lee Thornes, 86, husband of Susan Carll Thornes and the late Mary Ellen Barns Thornes, and a resident of Norfolk, VA, formerly of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at his residence. A native of Cape Charles, he was the son of the late Dennis F. Thornes, Sr. and the late Clara Crockett Thornes. He was a retired Tech Sergeant for the United States Air Force.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived a daughter, Deborah Lee "Dusty" King and her husband, Joseph, of Arizona; a son, David A. Thornes and his wife, Normalee, of Cheriton, VA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

To honor his request no public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
