Harris Browne

March 7, 1928 — February 24, 2019

Harris W.C. Browne, Jr. "Brub" passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. Survived by his beloved wife Diane Winters and three children: Garlan Quiroz, Charrie Cook and Tabet Browne. Their grandchildren: Agnetha, Brigitte, Leslie, Logan, and Dillon. Great grandchildren: Scarlett and Madison.

Born and raised in Plainfield NJ, in 1928 (as he always reminded us, the year of the model A Ford!) went to the University of Miami. He met Diane at Mt. Kemble swimming pool and after that forged a life together, 68 years of marriage on the 16 of February.

His love of the water led him to live always near the ocean, play with boats, water skiing, surfing waves, etc. Even becoming an airplane pilot to see the ocean better!

In 1958 he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and saw that there was a much more important work to do. He loved teaching others about the Creator, Jehovah God's promise, when death and sickness will be no more. That was his passion!

He served as a field missionary and elder in Guatemala for 43 years with his wife Diane. Together they helped many hundreds of people to live a better life following God's standards.

Advancing age and sickness brought him and his wife to the eastern shore VA, where they had very close friends. There they continued their ministry among the Spanish speaking communities, and were very well known for their preaching work in their little VW bug!

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 1:00 pm, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 18308 Lankford Highway, Parksley, VA.
