Hazel Mae Smack, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
A native of Painter, Virginia, Hazel was born to the late Johnnie Voyles and the late Ruby Voyles Mears. She was the beloved wife of the late Tommy Smack. Hazel spent many years working as a waitress before retiring, and she was a faithful member of Zion Apostolic Church in Belle Haven, Virginia.
Hazel will be remembered for her warm heart, strong faith, and devotion to her family and friends. She cherished time spent with loved ones and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Justis (Ray), Georgie Lee Alaniz, Ella Mae Like, Sharon Parks (Tim), and Diann Bendix (Max); her longtime companion and best friend of over ten years, Clayton Ray Parks; her sisters, Ethel Shuster and Shirley Anderson; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her memory will be lovingly cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at Doughty Funeral Home, with Reverend Eric Levesque officiating. Friends will join family from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to service. Inurnment will be private.
