Helen Mae Birch Hopper, 92, wife of the late Clyde David Hopper and a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Chincoteague, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Birch and the late Essie Taylor Birch Fitchett. She was a member of Drummondtown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Constance Hopper Ward and her husband, Bernie, of Salisbury, MD; granddaughter, Lara Whitehead and her husband, Andrew, of Salisbury; grandson, Wayne Kovacs of New Jersey; and great-grandson, A.J. Whitehead of Salisbury.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, December 31, 2018, at Fairview Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. A family viewing will be Monday from noon til 1:30PM at Doughty Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Dr., Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
