John Lawrence Hickman, Jr., better known as Jack, 78, husband of Irene Marie Hickman and a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Cape Charles, he was the son of the late John Lawrence Hickman, Sr. and the late Margaret Ewell Hickman. He was a retired Diesel Plant Operator for Delmarva Power and member of American Legion Post #56.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John L. Hickman, III and his wife, Trudy, of Cape Charles, Randall Luis Hickman of Cape Charles, and Justin Gregory Hickman and his wife, Devon, of Parksley, VA; a sister, Laura H. McSpedden and her husband, Joe, of Cape Charles; five grandchildren, John L. Hickman, IV and his fiancée, Nicole, of Chesapeake, VA, Shannon M. Hickman of Cape Charles, Randall L. Hickman, Jr. of Cape Charles, Cassidy P. Hickman and Harper M. Hickman, both of Parksley; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Irene Moyano Hickman.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday, March 23, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to SPCA Eastern Shore, Inc., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
