Jacquelyn Marie Barton “Jacque”, lovingly known as “Mom” to many, was a woman whose life was rooted deeply in love, faith, compassion, and quiet strength, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at her residence. A devoted follower of Jesus, she carried His love in the way she cared for others, welcomed people into her life, and gave comfort without hesitation. Her kindness left fingerprints on countless hearts.
Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her beloved mother Elizabeth Bobbitt (Ray), her father Jack Daniel (Dot), her husband Richard Barton, her son Sweet William, her precious great-grandchildren Baby Wyatt and Princess Leia, her brother Tarzan, and her sister Alice.
She leaves behind a beautiful family who will carry her love forward every day: her children Jim (Eddi), John (Donna), Jenna (Lee), and daughters in love Cheryl (Scott), and Tamara (David).
She was a proud and loving Mamaw to Brandon, Shannon, Logan (Emily), Mason (Charlie), Angela (Casey), Brian (Hannah), Miriah, Tye, Lindsey (Richie), Eli (Mikaela), and Tess (Shane).
Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren Haven, Chance, Malachi, Isaac, Evelyn, Lincoln, Levi, Tyson, and Trey, all of whom lovingly knew her as “Moo.” Nothing brought her more joy than the love of her family and the sound of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her.
She is also survived by her siblings Nancy (Tom), Molly (Marvin), Shelby (Charles), Jack Jr. (Iris), Roger (Rose), Wilbur (Kim), and Calvin (Kim), as well as her beloved Uncle Herb, whom she loved and considered a brother throughout her life.
Jacquelyn loved playing bingo and treasured all of her dear bingo buddies. She had a gift for making people feel seen, safe, and loved. She was the keeper of secrets, the shoulder to cry on, the voice of comfort during hard times, and the person who would help anyone in need without expecting anything in return. To so many, she was simply “everybody’s mom.”
A special and heartfelt bond was shared between Jacquelyn and her son-in-law Lee, who faithfully cared for her and stood beside her as both caregiver and best friend. Their friendship and love brought her immeasurable comfort and joy.
Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find peace knowing she is now resting in the arms of Jesus, reunited with those who went before her, and healed completely in Heaven.
Her love was unwavering. Her faith was strong. Her memory will live on forever in every life she touched.
A celebration of life will be held in private with her immediate family at a later date per her request.
During this incredibly difficult time, the family welcomes calls, prayers, visits, and shared memories as they honor and celebrate Jacquelyn’s beautiful life.
