James Leyon Rose, Sr., 82, husband of Betty Mae Pedersen Rose and a resident of Cedar View Beach, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at his residence. A native of Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Rufus A. Rose and the late Mary Duke Rose. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel and a member of Exmore Moose Lodge #683 and Pungoteague Ruritan Club.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two children, James L. Rose, Jr. of Cedar View Beach, Kelly Belge of Cedar View Beach; two sisters, Gracie Alison of Suffolk, VA, Minnie Rose of Salisbury, MD; three grandchildren, Samantha Belge of Onley, VA, Michael Belge of Cedar View Beach, Jessica Sellars and her husband, Kyle, of Essex, MD; and three great grandchildren, Kody, Kyla and Hazel Mae.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June25, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Craddockville United Methodist Church with Reverend Mary Jimenez officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
