Jim Moore

James Jackson "Jim" Moore, Jr., 85, a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital in Newport News, VA. A native of Cape Charles, VA, he was the son of the late James J. Moore, Sr. and the late Maggie Lee Hundley Moore. He was a retired Yard Master and Conductor for Penn Central Rail Road and Conrail, and member of Full Gospel Church in Cheriton, Exmore Loyal Order of Moose and Capeville Masonic Lodge #107 AF & AM.

Jim loved God, family, friends, his pets and fishing. And, he was loved by all who knew him because of his funny, kind and gentle spirit.

He is survived by three children, James J. "Jimmy" Moore III of Virginia Beach, VA, Gary James Moore and his wife, Darlene, of Chesapeake, VA, and Dr. Margaret Allison "Peggy" Moore and her husband, Keith Dixon, of Brookeville, MD; a brother, Clifton E. "Kippy" Moore and his wife, Rose Ann, of Keller, VA; and special friend Suzanne Justis, of Exmore, VA. Also surviving him are nine wonderful grandchildren and eight beautiful great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, William James "Billy" Moore and four brothers, Floyd T. Moore, William J. Moore, Melvin Lee Moore, and Robert Lee Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 15, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Full Gospel Church with Reverend Randy E. Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Cape Charles Cemetery. Family will join friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
