John Allen Daughtrey

John Allen Daughtrey, Sr., 92, husband of the late Emily Birdsong Daughtrey and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Franklin, VA, he was the son of the late John Oscar Holloman Daughtrey and the late Grace Pope Daughtrey. He was a retired manager for Peebles Department Store, Past Master of Broadwater Masonic Lodge #71 AF & AM, District Deputy Grand Master Masonic District #13, member of Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Royal Arch Chapter and Khedive Temple, Epworth United Methodist Church, and an avid golfer and fisherman.
He is survived by two children, John Allen Daughtrey, Jr. and his wife, Kate, of Nassawadox, and Mary Grace Daughtrey Woodburn and her husband, Jon, of Blairs, VA; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Dyllan, Jay, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Justin; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, May 7, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Mikang Kim and Pastor Jon Woodburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, PO Box 488, Exmore, VA 23350.
