John Elliott

October 18, 1943 — June 12, 2021

John Stanley Elliott, Jr., 77, husband of the late Valerie Carol Elliott and a resident of Birdsnest, VA, crossed the channel peacefully, Saturday, June 12, 2021, at his residence. A native of Townsend, VA, he was the son of the late Helen Kellam Elliott.  A United States Army Veteran, John received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for his gallantry in action in the Republic of Viet Nam.

He is survived by six children, John S. Elliott III and his wife, Tricia, of Exmore, VA, Christopher Elliott and his wife, Claudette, of Salisbury, MD, Elizabeth Charnock and her husband, Raymond, of Tangier, VA, and Derrick Elliott of Eastville, VA, Chelsea Warner and her husband, Trelle, of Accomac, VA, and Heather Guagenti and her boyfriend, Matt, of Exmore; a brother, Roy Elliott of Cape Charles, VA; eight grandchildren, Chris, Hunter, Ben, Heather, Anthony, John, Anakin and Kaysen; one great-grandson, Benjamin; one great-granddaughter, Nataliah and his loving dog, who was his best friend and companion, Jackson . In addition to his mother, John was predeceased by a son, Bryan Keith Elliott and brother, Robert Elliott. The family wishes to thank Riverside Shore Hospice for all their help and caring and a special thank you to John’s home health aide, Cheryl Powell.

Memorial services will be conducted graveside, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Cape Charles Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, Post Office Box 616, Onley, VA 23418.
