Lelia Ward McDonald

Lelia Ward McDonald, 98, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Hampton, Virginia. She was a native of Northampton County, Virginia, raised in Newport News, and a Hampton resident for most of her life. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Hampton. She enjoyed playing bridge, listening to music, and traveling. Lelia was employed at Silverman Furs in Newport News for 35 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Constance M. Smith of Hampton; a son, John H. McDonald (Rosanna) of Wilson, NC; two grandchildren, Ralph Smith (Debbie) and Elizabeth Mainwaring (Tom); and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 151 Wythe Pkwy., Hampton, VA 23661. Memorial donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church at the address listed above.
