Lew Carroll Cropper

July 12, 1935 — May 9, 2019

Lew Carroll Cropper, 83, husband of the late Thelma Gray Cropper, his wife of 60 years, and a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Thursday, May 09, 2019, at his residence. A native of Keller, VA, he was the son of the late E. Carroll Cropper and the late Anne Trower Cropper. Lew Carroll was a United States Army Veteran, retired manager for the Cape Charles A.B.C. Store, member of American Legion Post #56, avid card player and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by three children, Ann Lou Cropper Boehm and her husband, Mark, of Temperance, MI, Kimberly Cropper Wells and her husband, Ray, of Cape Charles, VA, and Douglas Carroll Cropper of Nassawadox; a sister, Anne Matthews of Wachapreague, VA; six grandchildren, Scott Pusey and his wife, Kim, Eric Boehm and his wife, Jenny, Raymond Wells, Jr., Jacob Wells, Samantha Huffman and her husband, John, and Christian Cropper and his wife, Michelle; and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Trower Cropper.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, May 13, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Fairview Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418.
