It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that the family of Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Widgeon announces her passing on June 14, 2026.
Born on March 10, 1946, on Bradford Neck Road, Virginia, Libby was the beloved daughter of William E. Fluhart and Susan "Susie" Margaret Isdell Fluhart. She attended Wachapreague Elementary School and spent her life rooted in the values of faith, family, hard work, and service to others.
Libby was a talented seamstress whose creativity and craftsmanship touched many lives. She also worked as an in-home caregiver, dedicating herself to helping others with compassion and dignity. More than anything, Libby was known for her generous heart. She provided for others emotionally, spiritually, and materially, often giving to those in need even when she had little to spare herself. Her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in her community left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William "Big Billy" Fluhart; and her sisters, Lucille Fought and Susan Bundick.
She leaves behind her devoted husband and the love of her life, Thomas C. Widgeon of Oyster, Virginia, with whom she shared many years of love, companionship, and treasured memories.
She is also survived by her sons, Randy Fluhart (fiancée, Jennifer Stocks) and Roy Widgeon (wife, Lori Widgeon).
Libby was a proud and loving grandmother to:
* Israel Fluhart
* Esther Fluhart Yost
* Sara Fluhart Matthews
* Leah Fluhart Vargas
* Abigail Fluhart
* Trevor Widgeon
* Taylor Widgeon
She was further blessed with four beloved great-grandchildren:
* Amelia Matthews
* Lydia Yost
* Eden Yost
* Caleb Yost
Family was the center of Libby's life. She took immense pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and build families of their own. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, a warm meal, or a lovingly handmade gift, Libby made everyone
around her feel valued and cared for. Her warmth, wisdom, faith, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and in the love she shared so freely throughout her life. Her legacy will continue through the family she cherished, the friends she embraced, and the many lives she touched through her generosity and compassion.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Full Gospel Church, located at 22340 Bayview Circle, Cape Charles, Virginia 23310, at 11:00 am.
