Lou Ann Steffey

Lou Ann Ashby Steffey, 84, devoted wife of the late Richard Gerald "Jerry" Steffey, Sr., passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, Virginia. A native of Exmore, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel C. Ashby and the late Genevieve Startt Ashby. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College.

Lou Ann and Jerry were steadfast in wanting the best for their children in every phase of life. Lou Ann is survived by four children, Pamela Dawn Bush and her husband, Tom, of Maryville, TN; Beverly Ashby Steffey of Durham, NC; Richard Gerald Steffey, Jr. and his wife, Sibhaluck, of Spearfish, SD; and Brian James Steffey and his wife, Shelly, of Gastonia, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Lou Ann was predeceased by two brothers, Samuel C. Ashby, Jr. and Owen Startt Ashby.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery.
