Marlene Louise Koerner

Marlene Louise Koerner, 51, wife of Keith R. Koerner and a resident of Painter, VA, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, at her residence. A native of Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Dorothy Godden Graham of Dunnville, Ontario, Canada, and the late Leo Wayne Brick. Marlene was a homemaker.

In addition to her loving husband and mother, she is survived by four daughters, Kira V.M. Koerner, Kayla D. Koerner, Kaycee E. Koerner, and Karlene M. Koerner, all of Painter; a brother, Jack Graham of Canada; and two sisters, Dianne Graham and Frances Graham, both of Canada. She was predeceased by a son, Keith R. Koerner, Jr. and a brother, Edward Graham.

Marlene had a very extended family, while raised by her grandmother, Verna Brick, who had 11 children, Elizabeth, Ronald, Shirley, William, Hector, Margaret, Marlin "Marlene", Wayne (her father), Rosemary, Jack, and Lorraine, all of whom considered her to be the 12th offspring and called her " Little Marlene". Marlene's extended family grew from her father, Wayne Brick's, two other relationships, Patricia Moscrip and her children, Scott, Tammy and Patricia; and Jennie Follick and her children, Danny, Donna, Debbie, Susan and Dwayne. These children of Wayne, either by marriage or birth, were all considered to be and with no doubt siblings, hence family to Marlene.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please do a good deed for someone you know.
