Martha Lynn Burns, better known as Marty, 58, a resident of Parksley, VA, formerly of Birdsnest, VA, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019, at Shore Health and Rehab Center in Parksley. A native of Birdsnest, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Ottis P. Burns and the late Joyce Carpenter Burns.
She is survived by ; two nieces, Catherine A. Bell and Stacee L. Bell, both of Machipongo, VA; two nephews, Tye W. Burns and his wife, Brittany, of Nassawadox, VA, and Jay Bell III and his wife, Trish, of Cape Charles, VA; a brother-in-law, Jay Bell, Jr. of Cape Charles; a sister-in-law, Karen Foley and her husband, Jack, of Eastville, VA; a great nephew, Masen C. Bell of Cape Charles; and two great nieces, Marissa P. Bell of Cape Charles, and Sutherlyn Y. Burns of Nassawadox. She was predeceased by her brother, William C.”Tip” Burns; and sister, Debra C. Bell.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, December 7, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Eastville Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
