Mary Wilson Mears

Mary Wilson Mears, 88, wife of the late George R. Mears and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at Heritage Hall Health Care in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Cape Charles, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Wilson and the late Daisy Shaw Wilson. She was a member of Exmore Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Thomas Harismendy, of Exmore; two sons, Jack Thomas and his wife, Janey, of Exmore, and Jeffery Wayne Mears and wife, Melissa, of Oyster, VA; a sister, Kathleen Wilson Jones, of Exmore; five grandchildren, Shawn Thomas, Nathan Thomas, Jeanine Setliff and husband Chris, Marc Harismendy and Dawn Marie Mears; five great grandchildren, Jasmine Thomas, Destiny Thomas, Hailey, Logan Marie and Bay Harismendy; and one great-great granddaughter, Nataliah Ames.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment will be private in Cape Charles Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Accomack - Northampton Pregnancy Center, P.O. Box 123, Onley, VA 23418.
