Matthew Spencer

February 22, 1967 — January 2, 2019

Matthew Taylor Spencer, 51, a resident of Oyster, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at his residence. A native of Cape Charles, VA, he was the son of Stanley C. Spencer and Norma Parks Spencer of Cheriton, VA. He was the retired owner of Spencer's Hardwood Flooring, a member of Capeville United Methodist Church, an avid golfer, and former member of Northampton Country Club.

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by a daughter, Kelsie L. Spencer; two grandchildren, Adalynn Spencer and Percy Walbridge; two brothers, Mark A. Spencer and his wife, Denise, and John W. Spencer, all of Cape Charles; and many loving family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Capeville United Methodist Church with Reverend Linda Lowe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Capeville United Methodist Church, c/o H.H. Scott, 4301 Townsend Drive, Cape Charles, VA 23310 or Kiptopeke Elementary School, 24023 Fairview Road, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
