Michael Anthony Barrett
June 15, 1949 — April 4, 2018
Michael Anthony Barrett, 68, husband of Jenny Jenkins Barrett and a resident of Franktown, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of Manassas, VA, he was the son of the late Edward J. Barrett and the late Goldie Mae Higgins Barrett. He was a United States Army Veteran, butcher at Food Lion in Onley, VA, an avid Washington Redskins fan and loved being around the water.
In addition to his loving wife of 36 years, he is survived by, a daughter, Joanna Barrett Cooper and her husband, Joe, of Bealeton, VA; a son, Michael Elijah Barrett of Sterling, VA; a brother, Robert L. Barrett of Winchester, VA; a sister, Joan C. Taylor of Alabama; three grandchildren, Isaac Barrett, Serenity Barrett and Skyelynn Barrett, all of Bealeton; six step grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jerry Barrett and Skip Barrett.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend James William Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Barrett Family, P.O. Box 633, Exmore, VA 23350.
