Nancy McCarthy

Nancy E. McCarthy, 79, of Eastville, VA, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was born in Millville, NJ on October 29, 1945. She was a homemaker but also worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone, as a cashier for the A&P Grocery Store and a weigher & wrapper for BELO grocery store. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved gardening and you could usually find her working in her beloved flower beds. She loved reading, word puzzles and coin collecting. She was an avid supporter of the SPCA, Saint Jude, The Disabled Vets, First Responders and political candidates.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, John G. McCarthy (VA). Nancy is survived by her children, Patricia Ambrose (VA), Elaine Spencer (VA), John Rourke (NJ), sister, Marian Raff (NC), grandchildren, Kristin Young (Brad) (VA), Wesley Spencer (VA), Sarah Rourke (NJ), John Rourke Jr. (NJ) and great grandchildren, Hanna Young (VA), Evan Young (VA), Decklyn Young (VA), Kaylee Spencer (VA) and Briella Nagle (NJ) . She was predeceased by her parents, Charles, and Hessie Raff (NJ); and brother, Fred Raff (NJ).

No formal service has been scheduled at this time. Donations can be made in her honor to the American Heart Association.
