Nell Nadine Hayward

Nell Nadine Hayward, 93, wife of the late Thomas Hayward and a resident of Jamesville, VA, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at her residence. A native of Morris, MN, she was the daughter of the late Winfred Jackson Tooley and the late Aria Vivian McCuine Tooley. She served in World War II as a United States Navy Pharmacist Mate, was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Nassawadox Homemakers and W.A.V.E.S. International.

She is survived by a son, Richard Thomas Hayward of Asheville, NC; a special daughter in law, Donna Harvie and her husband, Allan, of Williamsburg, VA; two granddaughters, Jennifer Lee Redd and her husband, Scott, of McLean, VA, Michelle Lee Midnight and her husband, Matthew, of Williamsburg; five great granddaughters, Naomi, Mary, Charlotte, Catherine and Donna. She was predeceased by a son, James Michael Hayward and a brother, Jack W. Tooley.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverends Paul Oh and Judith Worthington officiating. Interment will be conducted Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Bettie Nuckols, P.O.
