Nellie Kubic

Nellie Skidmore Outten Kubic passed away at her home on the evening of December 4, 2016. She was the youngest of five daughters born to Mable Mister and Jake Skidmore. In addition to her parents, her sisters, Emma S. Pusey (Kenny), Isabel S. Hummel (Leonard), Leone S. Salyer (Bill), Nina S. Smith (Troy), her cousin, Daisy H. Sanderson (Garrett) and her former husband, Russell Outten, all preceded her in death. She was the widow of Leon Kubic and is survived by her son, J.R. Outten.

Nellie was a kind, caring, compassionate and sympathetic soul who will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind. Her love of family, friends and countless abandoned, abused and homeless animals, especially dogs, is a testimony to her character and a tribute to her life.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at her late residence, 5123 Magotha Road, Townsend, VA. Interment will be private in Capeville Masonic Cemetery. Family will join friends at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM.
