Norman Gladden, Jr.

February 7, 1952 — October 24, 2016

Norman Gladden, Jr. passed away from this earthly life into the hands of Jesus Christ on Oct. 24, 2016 after a sudden illness. He was born Feb. 7, 1952 in Seaford, Del. to Audrey Shackleford Gladden and Norman Gladden. Norm was a resident of Cheriton, Va. and Boulder City, Nev.

In pursuance of his love for shooting and "anything guns" he opened and operated A & P Arms in Virginia Beach and Hampton, Va. from 1974 through 2012. He often said he was so fortunate to be able to own his own business and work in his hobby. He gave credit to many friends and mentors who helped make this possible.

Enjoying his hobby so much along with his wife Lou, he obtained a second home in Boulder City, Nev. to be able to shoot long range all year.

Norm leaves behind his lifelong love and best friend, his wife Lou Gladden and loved kitty, Boston. Norm is also survived by aunt Indie Shackleford Sheets, uncle John S. Hyslop, Jr. who was a second father to Norm, cousin J. S. Hyslop, III and wife Margie LeCato Hyslop whom he considered his brother and sister-in-law, cousin Virginia Lee Savage and her husband Tommy and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Audrey Shackleford Gladden, father Norman Gladden, and aunt Mary Blanche Shackleford Hyslop, who was a second mother to him, other uncles and an aunt.

Knowing she will be with him again, Lou lets him go in joy that he is at peace with no more pain. Norm loved the Lord all his life and lived doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.
