Oneyda Maldonado Pineda, age 53, of Exmore, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home on the night of June 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on October 31, 1971, in Tarretaro Guerrero, Mexico, Oneyda brought joy and warmth into every room she entered. She lived life with a free spirit, a spontaneous heart, and an unwavering cheerfulness. Known for her deep compassion, she constantly gave of herself, helping others without ever expecting anything in return.

Oneyda found joy in creativity—whether it was crafting beautiful handmade soaps and jewelry or preparing meals for those she loved. Cooking was one of her greatest passions, and she poured her heart into every dish. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and love.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Hermilo Perez; and their cherished children, Yarely Pineda, Jamilet Pineda, Jaylin Maldonado, Anthony Perez Maldonado, Sergio Perez Maldonado, and Hermilo Jr. Perez Maldonado. Oneyda was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren who brought her immense happiness.

She is also survived by her father, Bolivar Maldonado, and mother, Ignacia Pineda Renteria, both residing in Mexico; as well as her siblings, Salvador Maldonado, Israel Maldonado, Maritza Maldonado, Bolivar Maldonado, and Jose Pineda.

Oneyda's family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on June 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. Following the service, the family welcomes guests to join them at her residence, 3423 Myrtle Street, Exmore, VA 23350.

Oneyda's generous spirit and radiant smile will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity lives on in all who were blessed to know her.

Oneyda Maldonado Pineda, de 53 años, residente de Exmore, Virginia, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar la noche del 21 de junio de 2025, rodeada de su querida familia, tras una valiente batalla contra el cáncer de mama.

Nacida el 31 de octubre de 1971 en Tarrétaro, Guerrero, México, Oneyda infundía alegría y calidez en cada habitación que pisaba. Vivió con un espíritu libre, un corazón espontáneo y una alegría inquebrantable. Conocida por su profunda compasión, se entregó constantemente, ayudando a los demás sin esperar nada a cambio.

Oneyda encontraba alegría en la creatividad, ya fuera elaborando hermosos jabones y joyas artesanales o preparando comidas para sus seres queridos. Cocinar era una de sus grandes pasiones y ponía el corazón en cada plato. Su hogar era un lugar de consuelo, risas y amor.

Deja atrás a su devoto esposo, Hermilo Pérez; y sus queridos hijos, Yarely Pineda, Jamilet Pineda, Jaylin Maldonado, Anthony Pérez Maldonado, Sergio Pérez Maldonado y Hermilo Jr. Pérez Maldonado. Oneyda fue una abuela orgullosa y cariñosa de cuatro nietos que le brindaron una inmensa felicidad.

También le sobreviven su padre, Bolívar Maldonado, y su madre, Ignacia Pineda Rentería, ambos residentes en México; así como sus hermanos, Salvador Maldonado, Israel Maldonado, Maritza Maldonado, Bolívar Maldonado y José Pineda.

La familia y amigos de Oneyda se reunirán para celebrar su vida el 24 de junio de 2025 a las 15:00 h en la Funeraria Doughty, oficiando el funeral el Padre J. Michael Breslin. Tras el servicio, la familia recibe a sus invitados en su residencia, ubicada en 3423 Myrtle Street, Exmore, VA 23350.
