Oscar H. Smith, Jr., 81, husband of the late Mollie Kay Agathoin Smith and a resident of Jamesville, VA, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Jamesville, he was the son of the late Oscar H. Smith, Sr. and the late Helen Savage Smith. He was a retired farmer and supporter of Bethel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons; Oscar H. Smith III “Hank” and his fiancée, Margaret Price, of Princess Anne, MD, Dion G. Smith and his wife, Rhonda, of Gloucester, VA, and Douglas P. Smith of Jamesville; four grandchildren, Michael Smith, Julia Mitchell, Sydney Smith and Robert Smith; three great grandchildren, Lydia Smith Hubbard, Brian Smith Hubbard, and Cameron Smith Hubbard; a cousin, John Wayne Savage; a nephew, Rodney Smith; and two nieces, Sheryl Allison and Jane Wood. He was predeceased by a sister, Julia Bell Wood; two brothers, John Thomas Smith and Fusty Smith; and a grandson, Dion Edward Smith.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Betty Nuckols, P. O. Box 224, Jamesville, VA 23398.
