Patty Thornes

November 30, 1950 — March 5, 2024

It is difficult to put into words how beautiful a person Patty was. She was one of the most giving, charitable and kind humans I’ve ever known. Never was an unkind word spoken of her. She exemplified what it is to be a good Christian and a kind spirit who was happy to give freely of her time to whomever needed it. Even at her detriment, Patty was a selfless woman who put others first with empathy and grace. And she was always there to lift you up no matter how hard you fell.

Despite growing up in poverty and being ill for much of her life, she still had a beautifully loving disposition that knew no bounds. She embraced everyone around her and was a wonderful teacher to children and adults alike. She was funny, lighthearted and an excellent teller of stories. She was lovely, and loved by all who knew her.  Like a mother, she was always ready to feed you. “Are you hungry? Want me to make you something to eat?” But at the same time she was feeding your belly, she would also give nourishment to your soul and spirit with good humor and kindness.

Sadly, with all of her health concerns, the last few years of her life were exceedingly difficult. But she never lost her faith in God. I truly believe she was able to endure such physical hardship due to her faith in the Lord. By that faith, she is now by His side in a much better place. A place where there are no more tears nor pain or sorrow. She is now with the loved ones that we have lost in a celebration of heavenly eternal life.

Patty is survived by her loving husband Mike, and her two children Danielle and Antoinette. She will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace Momma. We love you so much.
