Margaret "Peggy" Allein Dyas passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, after a brief and unexpected illness. She was 73 years old.
Peggy was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, to William Edward and Eleanor Ferguson Dyas. She attended Holy Angels Catholic School before her family moved to Virginia Beach, where she graduated from Frank W. Cox High School in 1970.
Peggy spent most of her life in the Cape Henry area, where she found great joy in nature, especially in long walks with her beloved dogs through Seashore (First Landing) State Park and along the Chesapeake Bay.
She was our devoted family genealogist, with a deep passion for uncovering, preserving, and sharing the Dyas and Ferguson family histories. Her dedication helped build a vibrant and growing family tree, one that will continue to thrive because of her love and care.
She is survived by her sister, Patty Doxey, and brother-in-law, David Doxey, and their children: David R. Doxey (Cathy) and Elizabeth Renee Doxey Hambrick (Shane).
She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Gladden, and brother-in-law, Forrest Gladden, and their children: Brian Gladden and Heather Hunter (Zachary).
Peggy is also survived by her brother, Billy Dyas, and his children: Zach Dyas (Jennyfer), Keeton Dyas (Esther), and Matthew Donlevy.
Peggy’s warmth, curiosity, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
