Robert Blankenship

Robert G. Blankenship, Sr., 83, husband of Donna F. Blankenship and a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, at his residence. A native of Inez, KY, he was the son of the late William Floyd Blankenship and the late Linda Wiley Blankenship. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, retired owner of Bob's Body Shop & Radiator, and a member of Faith Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Sandra B. Bonner of Nassawadox, VA, Robert G. "Bobby" Blankenship, Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Accomac, VA, Ricky Blankenship and his wife, Angie, of Melfa, VA, Corey Glover of Crisfield, MD; a sister, Mildred Hopkins of Oak Hall, VA; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Other than his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, William Gary Blankenship, and Steven Westley Blankenship.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Doughty Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Madron officiating. Interment will follow at Wachapreague Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P. O. Box 473, Melfa, VA 23410.
