Robert Anderson Richardson

Robert Anderson Richardson, 79, husband of Carolyn Weiss Richardson and a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock. A native of Belle Haven, VA, he was the son of the late Thomas Hamilton Richardson and the late Anastasia Ashby Richardson. He was a retired United States Coast Guard Master Chief Petty Officer with 22 years of service; Vice President and Branch Manager for Farmers and Merchants Bank, now PNC Bank; member of Market Street United Methodist Church and a Master Mason.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two children, Robert A. "Andy" Richardson, Jr. and his wife, Nida, of North Carolina, and Deanna L. Richardson of Belle Haven; three step-children, Christopher Woodall of Concord, VA, Brian Woodall and his wife, Shannon, of Greenville, NC, and Laura Woodall of Onancock; two sisters, Suzanne R. Hand and her husband, H.M., of Belle Haven, and Anastasia R. Gowen and her husband, Rusty, of Machipongo, VA; three grandchildren, Dean Richardson, Robert Richardson III, and William Richardson; six step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and four step-great granddaughters. He was predeceased by a son, William H. Richardson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 6:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with the Reverend J. Barton Weakley officiating. Interment will be private in Belle Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, 1005 N. Glebe Road, Suite 220, Arlington, VA 22201.
