Robert Lee Turner

Robert Lee Turner, 86, husband of the late Evelene Drewer Turner and a resident of Wachapreague, VA, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Wachapreague, he was the son of the late Garland Lee Turner and the late Sue Colonna Turner. He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran and Charter Boat Captain of the Bonnie Sue for 70 years.
He is survived by his loving son, William L. Turner of Wachapreague; grandson, Brian Turner of Seaford, DE; three great grandchildren, Riley, Hurley and Talulla Turner, all of Seaford; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Leigh Nicholson of Cashville, VA, and Wanda Turner of Wachapreague; daughter-in-law, Drenda Turner of Pocomoke City, MD; and two nieces, Kim Aichele and her husband, Dave, of N.C., Ann Mills and her husband, Danny, of Cashville. Mr. Turner was predeceased by a son, W. Scott Turner and a brother, Jerry C. Turner.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, October 30, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Onancock Cemetery with Pastors David Riley and Joe McKnight officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 430, Onancock, VA 23417, Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418, or Hollies Baptist Church, P.O. Box 7, Keller, Virginia 23401.
