Spike Chalmers

Fletcher Govan Chalmers III, 78, and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Nassawadox, Va. He was the son of the late Fletcher Govan Chalmers Jr. and Lillian Mae Reisert. He was a member of American Legion Post 56 in Cheriton, VA, and the Exmore Moose Lodge #683.

Fletcher was self-employed and after retiring enjoyed fishing and boating. He is survived by a brother Frederick E. Chalmers (Irene); two sisters, Lillian C. Schneider (Ernest), Jane C. Hickey (Maurice); his special friend Elsie Hall Bowen along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 1:00PM at the American Legion Post 56 in Cheriton, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to American Legion Post 56, PO Box 357 Cheriton, VA 23316.
