Theo Smith Clayton, 81, wife of Raymond E. Clayton and a resident of Willis Wharf, VA, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at her residence. A native of Willis Wharf, she was the daughter of the late James Theodore Smith, Sr. and the late Lily Bradford Smith. She was a retired Registered Nurse and member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Theo enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, crocheting and had a vast knowledge about Hog Island history.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two children, Bettie C. Moore and her husband, David, of Willis Wharf, and Ted Clayton and his wife, Deborah, of Princess Anne, MD; and a grandson, Chris Moore of Virginia Beach, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Mikang Kim officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 488, Exmore, VA 23350.
