Katrina Ann Asal Hughes, better known as Tina, 51, a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at her home. A native of West Virginia, she was the daughter of Otis P. Asal of Cheriton, VA, and the late Brenda Rae Bailey Asal. She was a former Emergency Medical Technician for Northampton County Emergency Medical Services.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Stiles Bell and her husband, Andrew, of Melfa, VA; two step-daughters, Christine Medlock and her husband, Jason, of Birdsnest, VA, and Sherry Hughes of Schenectady, NY; a brother, Theodore Asal and his wife, Rose, of Cheriton, VA; two half-brothers, Philip Asal and Fred Asal, both of Farmville, VA; a half-sister, Teresa Chapman of Farmville; two grandchildren, William Knitter and Ellie Rae Bell, both of Melfa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than her mother, she was predeceased by a son, Thomas Stiles.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 7:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 430, Onancock, Virginia 23417.
